In my spare time, I serve with a world-wide humanitarian group caring for refugees with care packages, literature, and other support. This has involved weekly communications by Skype with team members in the US, India, and Europe, and trips to Panama, Taiwan, China, Belarus, London, Germany, Poland, and Estonia.


My French and German are beyond beginner level, but my comprehension exceeds my speaking ability quite a bit. I have some knowledge of Spanish, and I work on my Italian every day. Since I’m living north of Milan and interacting with Italians daily, I plan on learning as much Italian as possible.

Febrary 10, 2016 Working with fellow volunteers during the Syrian Refugee Crisis.  Here we are waiting before dawn for a group of refugees to arrive at the Port of Piraeus in Athens, Greece.
